Soccer Camps for Youth 7 to 18

Youth soccer camps are a great way for kids and teens to gain new soccer skills over the summer. Camps cater to kids elementary through high school age, 7 to 18, and are geared for novice players as well as those serious players looking to play soccer in college. MLS or Major league soccer camps have camp programs throughout the country. Smaller camps are also around and it's possible that your child can go to a soccer day camp locally. Other choices are residential camps, many with soccer training programs that run for 5 days.

How to choose

Individual soccer players tend to have different reasons for attending a soccer summer camp. A young camper may be interested in soccer, but have little experience with the sport. For this child, a soccer training camp offers exposure to the sport with hands-on training, demonstration and playing. Serious soccer players can benefit from a camp program where skill, tactical work and positioning plays are a part of the program. But more than that, it is finding a camp program that matches the individual interest of the player.

Program search

There are a number of camp soccer programs that work specifically with a particular position; goalkeeper and field player programs are examples. There are also programs specifically designed to improve the technical skill of high school soccer teams. These team soccer programs are gaining wider appeal. Often an entire soccer team, or part of the team spend several days at camp preparing for an upcoming tournament, travel or league play.
