What is the ACA or American Camp Association?

Many industries have associations that help to implement guidelines and standards to ensure quality, safety and health. The ACA, otherwise known as the American Camp Association is that association in the world of summer camps. Founded over 100 years ago, and originally named the American Camping Association, this organization is the authority of camp!

Why choose an accredited ACA Camp?

Even though you can't base the quality of a camp solely on ACA accreditation, it is a good measure. Why? A camp that is ACA accredited has met up to 300 health, safety and quality standards. Also accreditation program educates camp owners and directors in the administration of key aspects of camp, especially those related to program quality and health and safety of the staff and campers. Camps that are members of the ACA also receive ongoing training programs.
